The League Two club can be “very proud” of matching Manchester City’s record for the most league victories in 2023, according to Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson.
The Champions League and Premier League champions, City, and Wrexham, respectively, have each won 22 games so far this year.
For his League Two team, Parkinson stated that they wanted to “achieve even more.”
Parkinson told BBC Sport Wales, “We are quite proud of that since we are up against some very good clubs across the football pyramid.
“For everyone at the club, it is a tremendous accomplishment to be mentioned alongside Man City.
“It is about what is ahead, like Man City will be saying when they see that stat and how well they have performed.
“We know that we have done well to be mentioned with those names and up there, but it is about what lies ahead and how we can go again and accomplish even more.”
Wrexham’s 15-year hiatus from the Football League was ended when they won the National League title last season and set numerous records.
After dropping their home opener to MK Dons, Parkinson’s team is presently fourth in League Two, three points behind Gillingham. They have gone seven games without a loss.
Since the beginning of the season, “we have worked hard to look at areas we needed to improve, personnel and in terms of the structure of the side,” continued Parkinson.
“So far, I have enjoyed the division, the new season, and I am extremely excited.
We enjoyed playing them in the National League, and it is great to see them again in professional football, said Parkinson.
“We know what they are all about; they have put a lot of money into building a very good football team like we are over the years.
