Prior to their Premier League matchup against Manchester City next month, Arsenal has gained significantly because City midfielder Rodri is suspended after receiving a red card against Nottingham Forest.

Rodri, a holding midfielder for Manchester City, was sent off during his team’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest. Phil Foden and Erling Haaland’s goals in the first half gave Pep Guardiola’s team an early 2-0 lead at the Etihad Stadium.

However, City was reduced to ten men in the second stanza after Rodri was dismissed for grabbing Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White by the neck. Given his importance to Guardiola’s midfield setup and the fact that he will now miss the match against Arsenal next month, Mikel Arteta and co. will benefit greatly.

Over the past several seasons, the former Atletico Madrid player has established himself as one of Europe’s most reliable number sixs. During the 2021–2022 season, he even scored a dramatic winner against the Arsenal. Last year, City trounced the north Londoners both at home and away, winning 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium and humiliating their title rivals 4-1 in April.

Next month, Arsenal will be eager to exact revenge for those defeats, but before, they have a match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Only City has a better record than both teams’ 13 points from their first five league games this season.

Martin Odegaard, the captain of the Arsenal, who recently signed a new long-term contract with the team, acknowledged the significance of the upcoming match for both sets of supporters. He said, “That’s a big one,” when asked about the game.

Going into that game when I first arrived, I believe I immediately understood that this place was unique. On social media and the practice field, you can almost feel it

“Even if I try not to pay too much attention to social media, the fans still see and feel it. It’s a special one, and we look forward to playing it here at home in front of the supporters.

It’s a wonderful game and one of them that you really love playing.
