However, new head managers like Enzo Maresca aren’t always assured to get off to a flying start – regardless of what players they have as possibilities. The Foxes were fortunate to retain a large portion of the group from last season that was relegated from the Premier League.

It’s reasonable to say that things are going rather swimmingly for the Italian at the King Power Stadium with seven wins and just one loss so far in league play.

Jamie Vardy’s penalty helped Leicester defeat Bristol City 1-0 at home last time out, but this weekend they are on the road because they have an early Sunday afternoon kickoff against Jon Dahl Tomasson’s Blackburn Rovers team at Ewood.

Which players from Leicester City won’t be playing against Blackburn Rovers?
The majority of Maresca’s team is available, with the exception of a few long-term ailments that were already known, but the loss of Callum Doyle has significantly reduced his defensive options.

The teenage center back, who joined on loan from Manchester City during the summer transfer period and has been lining up on the left side of the defense, has started each Championship game so far this season.

The worst-case scenario, however, has already happened because Doyle will be out for at least 12 weeks after being pulled from the game against Bristol City last weekend at halftime.

According to LeicestershireLive, Maresca stated, “It will be between 12 and 16 weeks.”

He is the only player, I mentioned in the news conference before Liverpool, who is left-footed. We’ve had bad luck.

We had several wingers, including Wilfred, Cesare, Kiernan, Yunus, Jamie, Kele, Abdul, Macca, Stephy, and Marc, but he was the only one in that position, therefore we were unfortunate.

“We’ll look for a solution. JJ (James Justin) performed admirably against Liverpool and Bristol City. He might provide a solution.

Only two other players are reported to be out for Leicester ahead of this weekend’s games: new addition Tom Cannon and Belgian midfielder Dennis Praet, who both have back stress fractures.

Praet was a member of Maresca’s team to begin the 2023–24 campaign, but after starting against Huddersfield in August, he sustained a back injury that has kept him out of action ever since.

Although Cannon did not really receive his damage while playing for City, he has also through similar hardships.

Cannon signed for the Foxes on deadline day, although he did so while still nursing the injury he sustained on the training field of his old club Everton versus Wolves last month.

Although the striker was obviously a long-term investment for the team and there is no need to get him back with Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho able to lead the attack, it may now be months before he makes his City debut.
