According to Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson, Paul Mullin is as least as excellent as many of the Championship strikers now in the league.

WHAT OCCURED?
The frontman, who is 28 years old, was a dominant force in the lower divisions, winning the League Two Golden Boot before leading Wrexham to promotion in 2022–2023. Mullin has made 98 appearances for the Dragons and scored 79 goals in all.

THE GRANDER IMAGE
Due to an unfortunate punctured lung ailment sustained during preseason, his first attempts of the 2023–24 season occurred last time out against Crewe. In an exciting 3-3 tie, Mullin appeared to be back to his productive best, scoring an overhead kick and then drilling in a powerful second-half goal.

WHO SAID WHAT
Mullin’s ability to play at a much better level left Parkinson with no doubt that his star No. 10 would succeed. There are hardly many players at this level or the two levels above who could create finishes like that, according to Wrexham’s manager. Despite having a difficult week due to a family bereavement, Mulls was at his best then.

WHAT ARRIVES SECOND?
Ollie Palmer, Steven Fletcher, Sam Dalby, and Mullin are now among the experienced forwards at Wrexham’s disposal, giving Parkinson some pleasant selection difficulties as his team now sits ninth in League Two.
