Matt Turner apologized for his error as Nottingham Forest and Brentford drew 1-1. Moussa Niakhate was sent off for two yellow card offenses, which left the Reds with 10 men and pushed them to come back from a goal down.

During the second half of the game, the American goalkeeper wasn’t performing at his peak. After the break, he was unsteady and may have given away a penalty in the 52nd minute.

Turner ought to have done more to stop Christian Norgaard from scoring first. He acknowledged that his header wasn’t especially strong and that he ought to have performed better.

Turner, the Brentford goalie, raises his hands in celebration.

Turner, a Forest player, was the one who was brought out to speak to the media after the game. He immediately held his hands up since he didn’t want to try to make up for his mistake.

It’s disappointing, he told BBC Sport. In front of our own supporters, we want to be dominant. I made the mistake on my own. Just let me catch it. I’ll put forth even more effort on the practice field.

Turner was powerless to stop Norgaard’s feeble attempt from finding the goal. He was surprised by the effort, and the Reds suffered greatly during those few seconds.

Turner will take this error to heart.

Since moving from Arsenal, the goalie has proven reliable. Turner will take all he can from this and maybe use it to his advantage next weekend if he wants to keep his spot on the team.

Odysseas Vlachodimos is standing by in the forest. Turner will therefore be acutely aware that he cannot afford to have many more opportunities as he had in the second half of this game.

The top player for Greece has represented Benfica in league championships and the Champions League. It will now be very intriguing to watch who Cooper chooses for the game the following Saturday.
