Greg Taylor and Cameron Carter-Vickers are the next Celtic players who could receive contract extensions.

The basketball hierarchy wants the defenders to continue the recent pattern of EIGHT stars signing extended contracts with the champs.

Matt O’Riley signed a contract that will keep him with the club until 2027, making him the most recent star to commit his near future to the Parkhead team.

The fashionable midfielder, who joined from English third-tier MK Dons for a bargain £1.5 million in January of last year, signed the agreement on Saturday morning and, just hours later, scored the thrilling winner against Motherwell at Fir Park.

While captain Callum McGregor and his club and country teammate Anthony Ralston had already signed contracts, Reo Hatate signed a new one on Friday to join his fellow Japanese nationals Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda. Both contracts are valid until June 2027.

Stephen Welsh, a former captain of Scotland Under-21, and Israeli winger Liel Abada, who are both currently out with injuries, have both vowed their allegiance to Scotland’s title champions.

As Rodgers and the Hoops board work to secure important players for the upcoming crucial seasons, Carter-Vickers and Taylor are now the next in line, according to the Scottish Sun.

The USA World Cup center-half agreed to a £6 million transfer from Spurs last summer, making his move to Parkhead a permanent one. His current contract is good through June 2026.
