Ivan Toney feels the time is right to move on from Brentford in January with Tottenham and Chelsea among the sides keeping tabs, sources have told Football Insider.

The Bees now have a big decision to make on allowing their star man, 27, to leave in the mid-season window.

One saving grace for Thomas Frank’s side could be Toney‘s lack of football in the 2023-24 campaign – which could put off potential suitors.

The striker returned to Brentford training on 17 September after being suspended from all football-related activity back in May – but cannot play until 17 January.

The London club value the banned striker at close to £100million as speculation over his future ramps up.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal are among the sides to be most heavily linked with a move for Toney, who is set to become one of the hottest properties in English football when his ban is lifted.

forward, it is believed they will not be in the running for the England international in 2024.

Toney managed 21 goals and five assists in 35 games across all competitions last season – including a best-ever return of 20 strikes in the Premier League.

He made his England debut in March of this year after his impressive goalscoring form.

Brentford are struggling for form in the absence of Toney, and sit 14th in the table with seven points after seven games.
