According to the bookmakers, Danny Rohl and Nathan Jones, two former Saints players, are the front-runners to manage Sheffield Wednesday in the future.
The two front-runners to succeed Xisco Munoz, who was fired, are Hasenhuttl’s former assistant and the unsuccessful manager hire from the previous season.
In the Championship’s first 10 games, Wednesday has only collected two points due of owner strife off the field.
After serving as Hasenhuttl’s assistant for a time, Rohl left St. Mary’s in 2019 to take the same position with the German national team.
Rohl is currently unemployed as a result of Hansi Flick’s firing and is apparently on the Owls’ shortlist for the position of new manager.
Jones, a Welshman who won the 2021–22 Championship manager of the year award with Luton Town, managed Saints for just eight league games until Sport Republic took over.
Both candidates are joint favorites for the position and are each presently offered at 4/1 on Sky Bet to manage Sheffield Wednesday in the future.
Dean Smith, a former coach for Norwich City and Aston Villa, is the second favorite and is offered at 6/1. Between April and May of this year, Smith oversaw Leicester City when they were demoted.
Neil Warnock, a legendary EFL manager who recently left Huddersfield Town and is now looking for a new position, is currently placed at 10/1.
Additionally mentioned are Slaven Bilic (12/1), Giuseppe Iachni (14/1), Benito Carbone (16/1), Carlos Carvahal (16/1), Jess Thorup (16/1) and Neil Thompson (16/1).
