Rangers have been urged by Kris Boyd to hire their new manager “by next Monday” before the “league is over” and to expedite the hiring process.

After a poor start to the season, the Light Blues parted ways with Michael Beale. The former QPR manager’s 3-1 loss to Aberdeen served as the breaking point. For the Gers, things swiftly became worse when they lost to Aris Limassol in the Europa League.

Boyd, a former Rangers forward, thinks that those in charge of the Light Blues need to find their new manager as quickly as possible. Steven Davis has been given temporary control of Rangers as they search for the ideal candidate to take over at Ibrox.

“Rangers chairman John Bennett said the Ibrox board would take “as long as it takes” before replacing Beale,” Boyd reported in the Scottish Sun on October 6th. They lack that free time. To get ready for the league’s resumption, they must have a new manager in place by next Monday.

“I would want to get out of this problem as soon as possible if I were Steven Davis, the temporary manager. If he continues in this manner, his coaching or managerial future may already be in jeopardy.

“The Aris loss was a new low, and Rangers now have a challenging road game against St Mirren on Sunday at noon. The league is over if they lose and go further behind.

not enough time

In an effort to unseat Celtic and put the Light Blues back on top of the Scottish Premiership, Rangers spent a lot of money this summer building Beale the team. However, it did not work out, and after a shaky start to the season, the Gers are now playing catch-up.

In order to ensure that the players presently working at Ibrox put forth some sort of good effort, they must now choose the best manager for the job, and if they want the transition to go well, they must do so as soon as possible.

At this point in the season, changing managers has exactly one benefit:

The Light Blues will lose crucial time that they could have used to adjust to the new coach’s approach if a new manager isn’t in place before the start of the international break, and considering the gap they already have with Celtic, that time cannot be lost.

Given that the previous appointment demonstrated the need for caution when choosing a new manager, you can understand Bennett’s desire to take his time in searching for the ideal candidate. However, time is of the essence because, as Boyd noted, another loss by the Gers could effectively seal the league for St Mirren.
