Wrexham AFC rejoined the Football League under the ownership of Hollywood moguls Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny and Phil Parkinson’s direction.

After a tight, season-long battle with Notts County, the Red Dragons did indeed win the National League, scoring an incredible 111 points.

Naturally, the team wanted to add some players this summer to strengthen their roster after moving up a division.

With that in mind, as well as the transfer market, we’ve examined the club’s most prized players according to Transfermarkt and estimated what a team may pay to get them.

James McClean – £300,000

James McClean, a summer addition for the team—a theme you might notice in this list—is the first Wrexham player we’re going to examine.

McClean, who is now 34, chose to leave Wigan Athletic this summer and move down to League Two.

According to reports, this transfer agreement cost Wrexham in the neighborhood of £250K, therefore McClean’s worth must be close to this sum.

Given that the club has the option to extend his contract through 2025, we’ll assume McClean is now valued at £300,000.

George Evans – £500,000

Following their promotion to the EFL, midfielder George Evans was another player to join Wrexham this summer.

Evans had previously played for Millwall in the Championship, thus the move was a significant one.

Evans, who was 28 years old and out of contract at The Den this past summer, did not require Wrexham to pay a fee, in contrast to McClean.

Having said that, we estimate Evans’ market value to be as high as £500k given that he is contracted through 2025 and may be in his prime age bracket.

Steven Fletcher – £100,000

Steven Fletcher, a former Scottish international, is yet another newcomer to the Wrexham roster this summer.

The 36-year-old joined in September, making him somewhat of a latecomer, but better late than never.

He too became a Red Dragon on a free transfer, like Evans.

While his extensive knowledge will undoubtedly be valuable to Wrexham, we estimate that his market value would be closer to £100K.

Will Boyle – £700K

Will Boyle is the next player on this list to make the transition from the Championship to League Two.

Before his summer transfer to the Racecourse Ground, the 28-year-old was listed on the roster of Huddersfield Town.

Although the amount paid by Wrexham is unknown, it must have been a respectable sum because the team decided to sign him to a three-year contract.

Despite sliding to the fourth tier, we estimate Boyle’s current worth to be around £700,000. Like Evans, he is arguably in his prime.

Paul Mullin – £850,000

The final Wrexham player we have examined is Paul Mullin, who is the only one on the list who did not sign this summer.

Mullin’s signing for the team a few years ago stunned a lot of people, but after scoring a lot of goals in non-league, he has propelled them back into the EFL.

He might easily be the most valued player on this list based on the goals he scored last season and earlier in the EFL.

Mullin is therefore expected to have a transfer value of £800 to £900,000.
