With 25 points from their first 11 league contests, Pompey are now in first place and have gone an astonishing 22 games without losing.

Since being appointed as Fratton Park’s first manager by the organization in January, John Mousinho has performed admirably. The 37-year-old will be hoping his team can keep up their current form and secure a return to the Championship in the coming season.

We projected the prospective transfer value of some of Portsmouth’s star players in light of the possibility that their stars may get interest from other teams due to their strong start to the season.

Regan Poole – £1.5 million

Poole’s free transfer to Pompey this summer after leaving Lincoln City was a major victory for the club.

Poole established himself as a standout defender in League One during his two years with the Imps, and he garnered interest from the Championship, with Sheffield Wednesday reportedly showing interest earlier this summer.

The 25-year-old has had a significant influence at Fratton Park, strengthening and toughening up the Portsmouth defense. He has also been a threat down the other end of the field this season, netting three goals in 12 appearances across all competitions.

Poole may have been a free agent when he was signed by Pompey, but his worth is unquestionably rising as a result of his stellar performances; a fair estimate of his worth is somewhere around the £1.5 million mark.

Joe Morrell – £1 million

In August 2021, Morrell moved to Portsmouth from Luton Town, where he established himself as a stalwart in the middle of the midfield at Fratton Park.

This season, the midfielder has made 12 appearances across all competitions, starting every league game when healthy. He has also occasionally donned the captain’s armband, demonstrating Mousinho’s confidence in him.

Morrell competes for Wales internationally and was a member of their World Cup squad in 2014, making substitute appearances against the USA and England as Rob Page’s team was eliminated from the competition in the group stage.

The 26-year-old’s transfer worth might rise to about £1 million due to his position as a Welsh international.

Paddy Lane – £2 million

Lane moved to Portsmouth in January from Fleetwood Town, and so far he has been a great addition.

During his 18-month stay with the Cod Army at Highbury Stadium, the winger was a standout, earning the club’s Player of the Year honor and League One Young Player of the Year honors for the 2021–22 campaign.

Lane has been instrumental for Pompey thus far this season, with one assist and three goals in 10 appearances across all competitions.

The 22-year-old is a promising talent, and the club would be reluctant to sell him for less than £2 million. He made his senior debut for Northern Ireland at the international level in March 2022.

Kusini Yengi – £1 million

Yengi joined Pompey from Australian side Western Sydney Wanderers this summer, and he looks to be an incredibly shrewd signing.

The striker scored four goals in his first three appearances for the club, but he has been sidelined since August with an ankle injury.

However, Yengi is expected to make his return in the coming weeks, and he will be keen to pick up where he left off after his strong start to life at Fratton Park.

On the early evidence, Yengi seems like he will be a prolific scorer in League One which will raise his value, but at the moment, £1 million would be a fair valuation.

Colby Bishop – £3 million

Bishop arrived at Fratton Park from Accrington Stanley last summer, and he has proven to be an outstanding addition.

The striker was Portsmouth’s top scorer last season, netting 24 goals in 52 appearances in all competitions, and his fine form has continued this campaign, with the 26-year-old scoring six goals in his first 13 games.

Bishop will be key to Pompey’s promotion prospects this season, and the club will be determined to keep hold of him, with anything below £3 million unlikely to be considered.
