Sam Matterface cannot believe that people have questioned Jarrod Bowen’s contract extension at West Ham United.

The English winger has committed his future to the Hammers until 2030, as per the official West Ham website (8 October).
The 26-year-old attacker has five goals and two assists from his nine appearances in all competitions at club level this season.
“I can’t believe how anyone would suggest that if you were given a deal as big as this, you wouldn’t sign it,” Matterface said live on talkSPORT.

“Why wouldn’t you sign it? This is a brilliant deal for Bowen, and it’s a good deal for West Ham, showing their ambition.”
West Ham seemingly needed to fend off unsurprising interest in Bowen, and they have done that in the most perfect way with this long-term deal. The player has enjoyed a rapid start to the new season, and is clearly enjoying life at the London Stadium.

Hammers supporters, David Moyes and all associated with the club will be delighted with the contract extension, and they will be hoping that the top displays can continue for many years to come.

And there will not be many people doubting that, with the winger set to be full of confidence for his feats in claret and blue, which have now earned him a recall to the England squad.
Whether he gets minutes for the Three Lions in the current international break remains to be seen, but he can be very proud of his selection by Gareth Southgate.

England host Australia in a friendly on Friday (13 October) before meeting Italy in Euro 2024 qualifying action on Tuesday (17 October).
