Wrexham’s defensive style of play, according to Crawley striker Danilo Orsi, is understandable given the Reds’ strong home record this year.
On Saturday, October 7, in front of a sold-out crowd at the Broadfield Stadium, Ollie Palmer scored against his previous team to give Wrexham a 1-0 victory.
With 20 minutes left, the visitors were down to ten men, but they managed to hold on for a close victory. Here are the player rankings for Crawley Town.
After the game, Crawley striker Danilo Orsi commented, “It’s disappointing to lose as always.”
“I thought we played well, but at the end of the day, you have to get three points, and we didn’t able to achieve that.
They were left with just 10 soldiers. They will naturally sit in once you have a 1-0 lead since they are aware of our strength at home.
“You want to cross the line with the ball. We had opportunities, kept the ball, and effectively recycled it.
“You can tell how exhausting it was for them. By the time it was all over, they were thinking just fail. We’ve had faith this season, and we still believe we’ll get one, but not today.
Crawley had 25 shots on goal and held a significant majority for long stretches, but they failed to score at home for the first time since August. Additionally, it was their first loss at home since their 1-0 loss to Gillingham on August 19th.
September saw 20 goals scored by Scott Linsey’s team, which also won five of their six games.
Orsi, who was rested for the trip to Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday (October 3), scored three of those goals. He expressed confidence going into the game against Wrexham.
“We’re not going to score every game,” the former Grimsby forward, who squandered a significant first-half opportunity, remarked. “I had two straight wins, which is a hot streak. I went into it feeling confident.
It’s frustrating that we didn’t score today, but that’s football.
“We all had opportunities in the first half, including myself. They enter on a different day.
We’ll keep up the effort and play the way we are because we are confident in our ability to outperform the opposition.
According to Scott Lindsey, Wrexham employed the ‘black arts’ to the furthest extent to secure their first victory in four games.
Orsi was questioned about how difficult it was for him and his teammates as a result.
“Yes and no,” he answered. “We possessed the ball a lot, broke them down a couple times, and made some good chances.
“Dark arts are a part of sport, and League Two is no exception. We would act similarly if we were leading 1-0 away from home.
“It wasn’t anything out of the ordinary or unheard of before. They deserve credit for doing it so well, especially near the conclusion.
Crawley, who have impressed this season with their appealing style of football, won’t be discouraged, according to Orsi, despite the loss. Despite suffering two losses this week, they stay seventh.
“Today hurts, tomorrow will probably hurt,” the 27-year-old continued. A new week begins on Monday.
“We like how we play. Throughout the week, the gaffer and team worked very hard. After a strong performance, you could be disappointed if you don’t get three points at the weekend, but we’ll work hard for next week.
“We’ve off to a good start, but it’s only the beginning; we need to keep it up. Today’s game was the 12th, so it was still early.
“We faced a team that was predicted to be promoted, and we were predicted to be relegated, but we’re still towards the top of the standings. It’s an honor for the entire team.
