After making it 10 wins from 10 domestic games last weekend, Celtic FC Women are eyeing up another perfect 10 as they look to maintain their 100 per cent record this Sunday in the SWPL.

The Celts travel to Petershill Park, preparing to face off against Partick Thistle as the two sides meet for the first time in competitive action this campaign.

Coming off the back of an extremely busy week, which included three matches in seven days, the Ghirls have had some time to recover and work on the training ground, with their previous outing coming last Sunday in another emphatic win over Motherwell.

However, confidence remains sky high within the camp as Fran Alonso’s side aim to secure 30 points from a possible 30 with another win this weekend.

Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of the match, the Spaniard is expecting to see the hard work continue as his squad look to continue their flawless domestic start.

He said: “It’s been a good week’s preparation. Obviously there are a lot of happy faces because the girls know they are doing well.

“But we have continued to push them, because we haven’t achieved anything yet and we need to keep improving.

“There are so many aspects that, especially during last Thursday’s game against Glasgow City, we didn’t do as well and we have touched on them.
“We will try to get the three points on Sunday, knowing that we are going to play fourth place in the table, and they aren’t in that position by chance.

“Partick Thistle are doing very well, they got an impressive result away last weekend and we definitely won’t underestimate them.

“We know that last season we beat them with the last kick of the game, and we know how difficult this game is going to be.

“So we have to be at our best to try get the three points.”

After making a fine start to the season, not only results wise, but also in front of goal, the Hoops’ next strike in the league will be their 50th goal of the SWPL campaign.
The Celts have put in a number of impressive showings in front of goal already this season, and Alonso is hoping to see his side maintain that form as they continue to grow in confidence.

The Celtic manager is well aware of the threats this weekend’s opponents offer as he insisted that all his focus is going into achieving another three points on Sunday.

“We need to be fully concentrated going into the game,” he said. “Currently, we are in great form, so we are confident going into the game.

“But we have to continue working very hard for it, because Partick are where they are in the league for a reason.
“So it’s very important to focus on each game at a time. All our focus right now is on the Partick Thistle game.

“Obviously it’s an away game and they always get good crowds and they feed from that. But thankfully we have got, for me, the best fans in the league.

“So we are expecting a very tough game, but a good game and hopefully it will be a good show! Hopefully we can be at our best too to take all three points.”
