Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Chris Wood explains what the club owner wants in the Premier League this season

Chris Wood, a striker for Nottingham Forest, claims that owner Evangelos Marinakis is demanding advancement in the Premier League this year. The Reds secured their survival with a memorable victory over Arsenal at the City Ground, finishing in 16th position during their first season back in the top division.

After eight games this season, they are now in 13th place in the Premier League and are making strides under Steve Cooper. Last season, they only got four points after their first eight league games; this year, they have nine thanks to two victories and three draws.

They had also lost six times in the Premier League at this point last season, but this year they have only lost three league games, against Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal. In addition to looking stronger away from the City Ground, Forest recently defeated Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Wood has participated in each of the team’s eight league games so far this year, but he has only started once, in their most recent game against Crystal Palace. At the end of the season, he adds that it would be “great” if they could place in the top 10.

Our major goal, he declared, is to just keep moving forward. “That’s important to the owner. We are simply attempting to outperform last year because he wants the club to continue progressing.

We have discussed keeping more clean sheets, scoring more goals, and accruing more points as a squad. It would be fantastic if we could crack the top 10, but growth is what matters most.
