A court battle between Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney may be in store when an American company filed for the right to make and market beer with a Wrexham theme.

Although the Hollywood couple has ambitious ideas for the North Wales club, it looks that a Pennsylvanian brewery may be aiming to beat them to the punch. Master Brew Ventures LLC has submitted paperwork to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in an effort to get the rights to market these light alcoholic beverages.

If they were successful in their application, they would essentially be allowed to sell ‘beer, ale, and lager’ bearing the name of the League Two club to customers. Their trademark application has not yet been assigned to an examiner, thus no decision has been made as of yet.

Throughout their brief but significant ownership of the Red Dragons, the co-owners have worked diligently to establish trademarks for beers. In reality, a number of prospective beverage names have already been registered as trademarks by famous actors with the UK’s Intellectual Property Office.
