Lewie Coyle has been in his fair share of battles this season.

Hull City boss Liam Rosenior will hope for good news over the next few days on at least two of his key performers as Championship football prepares to resume this weekend.

The Tigers chief has been without influential playmaker Ozan Tufan in recent weeks while Lewie Coyle missed the 2-2 draw at Millwall last Saturday with a fractured eye socket.

In-form midfielder Regan Slater has also been sidelined since the defeat at Ipswich Town after suffering a hamstring tear which is likely to keep him sidelined until Christmas, while Aaron Connolly withdrew from the Republic of Ireland squad last week as a precaution.

Rosenior will also be keeping a nervous eye on his returning international players with Jaden Philogene, Liam Delap, James Furlong, Adama Traore and Jean Michael Seri all away on duty with their respective countries during the break.

City will hope skipper Coyle has been given the green light by a specialist to feature against Southampton at the MKM Stadium on Saturday, while Rosenior will hope Tufan has made good progress from the problem which has seen him miss the last month.
