Says Gav… Ba Abdoullah
He’s not even the same player as in the previous season, let alone this one. In the game against Coventry, he was so horrible that I openly said on the podcast that he would never be a right winger as long as I have a hole in my arse.
How foolish I was, as he has been nothing short of amazing on the right side ever since. He has helped us play well and brought goals and assists, as well as playing so well that he kept Patrick Roberts off the field.and Roberts’ admiration for Tony Mowbray is well known.
We’d heard through the grapevine that the club considered Ba as a long-term Amad replacement, and although I’m not sure he’s exactly at that level yet, it’s encouraging that he’s been given the opportunity to succeed and has seized it. He truly serves as an inspiration to our other recent international additions, showing them that with patience and hard effort, you will finally be given the opportunity to properly demonstrate your ability.
explains Andrew Smithson:Ballard, Dan
Many Sunderland players are currently enjoying a sharply upward trajectory in their careers; you could probably name a few, but I’ll go with Dan Ballard. Although he was already playing at a very high caliber, he has improved even more this season after returning from injury. It’s quite surprising that he can read the game so well and yet be so physically dominant at his age. He also works well with Luke O’Nien, which plays a big role in how the entire team sets up.
Our ability to move forward depends on O’Nien’s willingness to step out and take the ball, but without Ballard’s support, it wouldn’t be possible. He can be as stubborn as a brick wall at times, but he can also be resourceful and has contributed a few goals on the other side.
Sooner or later, the boy will begin to draw attention from the elite, but we will need to adjust to that. It’s clear that we’re aiming for players with Ballard’s potential and drive to grow better, and it’s incredibly exciting to watch them advance.

Considering how much Jack Clarke has contributed to our attacking play both in terms of goals and overall quality, it is very difficult to leave him out. Although Clarke has become better every season, it appears that he is now prepared to test the waters in the top flight—possibly after playing the entire Championship season. Regarding how well Luke O’Nien has adapted to his new position as center of defense and the skipper, you also can’t ignore him. Excellent work from a very committed professional who is constantly trying to get better.
Abdullah Ba’s progress this term has been rapid, as he is currently vying for a spot in the starting lineup. He is a player who is giving Tony Mowbray some excellent performances, and he has undoubtedly profited from a run in the team. Although he is far from perfect, he will undoubtedly continue to refine his work and challenge players like Patrick Roberts for a starting position.
Trai Hume is another guy that deserves to be included here. He is a versatile player who can play in midfield or at left back and is always becoming better. By naming a few players, I may not be fully responding to the topic, but that is the.
