Bryce Hosannah, Callum McFadzean, and Billy Waters, according to PHIL PARKINSON, are not being treated like forgotten men.

Goalkeepers and players who were under the age of 21 at the start of the calendar year are excluded from the 22-man roster cap for League Two clubs. Hosannah, McFadzean, and Waters, three players who can play in cup games until clubs are permitted to update their squad lists when the January transfer market opens, were not included.

Parkinson, who has previously said he disagrees with EFL squad size regulations, acknowledges that it was difficult to leave the senior players out of his plans but insists that they have not been abandoned. Because they are a member of the team, we obviously include them in training, according to the Reds’ manager. “Because they are three talented players, it has been difficult for them because every player wants to play.

“We simply had to make a choice at the time, so we did. “They are never going to totally agree with it because everybody thinks they should be in it but their challenge now for January is let your football do the talking like Bryce did at Crewe.” Hosannah, who has had a difficult time with injuries, started Wrexham’s 3-0 EFL Trophy victory over Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road on Tuesday, advancing them to the next round.

The former Leeds United player, along with McFadzean and Waters, might be considered for the FA Cup first-round visit to League Two opponent Mansfield Town on the weekend of November 4–5 and the home final EFL Trophy group game, according to Parkinson, who was impressed with him.

“Bryce just got an injury at the wrong time, and it was a really tough call,” the Reds’ manager stated. “He demonstrated that he is a good player against Crewe. “Everyone knows Bryce is a good player; the challenge was keeping him healthy and accessible frequently enough.

But he has put in good training, and his completion of 90 minutes at Crewe will be a major lift for him.

“Not only this competition but we have got the FA Cup coming up as well so those players outside the 22 can play in that.” In addition to resting regulars and giving other players much-needed playing time, Parkinson made substitutions at Crewe and explained why McFadzean and Waters did not receive a run-out. “Callum was ill over the weekend, he came to the hotel pre-match but had sickness so we sent him home,” stated Parkinson.

Billy recently stretched out his medial during training. Although it’s a minor injury, he probably needs a few more days before he can resume training. But a squad is there for just that. You saw our depth at Crewe, which will be one of our major assets this year.
