One player who is rumored to have spent a trial time at Bloomfield Road is expected to sign with their rivals in League One.

League One rivals Port Vale and Blackpool are getting close to signing a player that the club was considering last month. Although January is still a few months away and the summer transfer window has closed, teams are still permitted to sign free players if they have slots open in their rosters.

The Staffordshire team is reportedly in the process of signing a player who was on trial at Bloomfield Road as they attempt to take advantage of the free agent market once more. Journalist Tom Bogert of The Athletic believes that Adeteye Gbadehan’s signing with Vale is imminent. “Sources: American central midfielder Adeteye Gbadehan is nearing a deal with League One side Port Vale,” he tweeted on Wednesday morning. Gbadehan, 19, has had trials with Brentford and Southampton in the past, but he is more interested in joining Port Vale’s first team.

Journalist Alan Nixon of the Sun previously stated on his Patreon page that he was on trial at Blackpool and had also been training with Southampton, a Championship team. Brentford was also interested in him, and other Premier League teams were keeping an eye on him. The Secret Scout claims that inquiries have been made by Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur.

The six foot three-inch midfielder played for a team called Future SC Monarchs, where he won the 2021 Dallas Cup, after entering the US Soccer academy. Compared to the other interested parties, who would have probably started him in their Under-21 squad, his move to Port Vale could see him promoted to the first team more quickly. Instead of enrolling in an MLS academy, Gbadehan traveled to Europe with the intention of playing on the continent because he held a British passport.
