The news that one of West Bromwich Albion’s injured players might be ready to make a comeback for the Championship match against QPR this month has given the team a lift.

In the table, where are West Brom?

The Baggies have found themselves 11th in the table after a somewhat uneven start to the new season with four victories, four draws, and three losses. Here is the current standings after the first round of games:

The absence of Daryl Dike, Josh Maja, Adam Reach, Martin Kelly, and John Swift due to their individual injuries hasn’t benefited Carlos Corberan in the slightest, but they aren’t the only players who haven’t played recently.

Jeremy Sarmiento signed a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion during the summer, but he had a rough start to his new life in the Midlands after sustaining a quadricep injury that the manager predicted would keep him out for four weeks.

Update on Jeremy Sarmiento’s injuries
Dr. Rajpal Brar provided an update on Jeremy Sarmiento’s injury to West Brom News, indicating that the offensive midfield player may not be ready for Saturday’s match against Plymouth but may be available for the team’s next match against QPR.

“After his first start, he experienced something in his quadriceps muscles, which sounds like soreness based on the reports, but he felt pain after a brief appearance. Following that, he underwent scans, which revealed probable some degree of tear and will necessitate rest.

“The physios will start to ramp him up again once the injury has sufficiently healed.” He won’t be able to play in the following game, but he might try to make it back before the end of the month.

What is Jeremy Sarmiento’s age?
Sarmiento is only 21 years old, and you can see that he’s still very early in his career growth because in 48 games since making his debut, he’s only managed five contributions—three goals and two assists—(Transfermarkt – Sarmiento statistics). Though he has played in five different positions across the pitch previously, including three in the center and even out wide on the left and right flanks, Ecuador’s international is a versatile player who can readily adjust to the manager’s demands, making him a valuable asset in the building.

Sarmiento is a “exciting” talent, according to journalist Josh Bunting. It’s unfortunate that West Brom hasn’t given him the chance to show off his skills yet, but if he were to return to the field soon, Corberan would benefit greatly from being able to use his summer acquisition.
