Tariq Uwakwe, a defender for Swindon Town, is expected to miss two to four months due to a knee injury.
After moving from Crewe to the Robins this summer, the 23-year-old has made 11 appearances across all competitions. Uwakwe, who can also play in midfield, was benched for the last two league games Swindon played.
“I’m awaiting confirmation of the severity of the situation, but it doesn’t seem promising,” head coach Michael Flynn stated on BBC Radio Wiltshire. “I would think it could take eight to sixteen weeks. We’re just waiting for him to consult a specialist about it as it’s [his] lateral ligament. “How he did it, as well, is completely innocuous, so yes, it’s a bit of a strange one.”
