Tuesday night, when West Brom hosts QPR at The Hawthorns, they will be attempting to reduce the distance between themselves and the Championship play-off spots. The last eight games have seen just two victories and two losses for the Baggies, indicating a mixed recent record. They are only two points out of the top six slots heading into the midweek schedule of games, but they are still ninth in the standings. Consequently, this encounter may be viewed as a bit of a chance against a failing QPR team, who are now 22nd in the Championship standings and have only managed two points in their previous seven games.

In light of this, we’ve looked at the West Brom starting lineup that head coach Carlos Corberan may use for that game, sticking with the 3-4-3 formation they’ve used for the majority of the season thus far.

Goalkeeper: Alex Palmer

Palmer should continue to start for West Brom in this match as he has been the team’s first choice between the posts throughout the league thus far this season.

Centre Back: Cedric Kipre

As he finally gets a run in the team, Kipre is looking to be having what already appears to be his greatest season in a West Brom shirt. He should be able to continue this against QPR.

Centre Back: Kyle Bartley

Bartley should start in the back line for this match because he has been a dependable and crucial defensive presence for West Brom once more this season.

Centre Back: Conor Townsend

In the goalless draw with Plymouth over the weekend, Townsend came off the bench to replace Erik Pieters at the hour mark. Townsend could have done this from the beginning to give the 35-year-old a break during a three-game week.

Right Wing-Back: Darnell Furlong

Furlong is still a reliable and valuable asset for West Brom, as he is still their most experienced player, therefore he should be able to hold down his starting spot against QPR.

Centre Midfield: Alex Mowatt

Mowatt should start this game again after earning a loan at Middlesbrough. Since returning to West Brom in the summer, he has established himself as a key player.

Centre Midfield: Okay Yokuslu

Yokuslu might be able to return to the starting lineup even if Nathaniel Chalobah started and performed admirably against Plymouth. There may be concerns about Chalobah’s ability to start consecutive games after having little playing time this season.

Left Wing-Back: Matt Phillip

Although it is not his best position, Phillips has been a consistent starter on the left side of the field this season and has likely done enough to hold it for Tuesday’s game.

Right-Wing: Tom Fellows

West Brom’s recent performances have benefited greatly from Fellows’ bench appearances, and Corberan has hinted that the 20-year-old may now start for his team as well. As a result, he could enter the assault against QPR from the right, forcing Grady Diangana to the sidelines.

Centre Forward: Brandon Thomas-Asante

Given that Josh Maja and Daryl Dike are still sidelined by permanent injuries, Thomas-Asante is still the most logical senior choice for the Baggies to start at center forward in this matchup against the Hoops.

Left-Wing: Jed Wallace

For this match against QPR, captain Jed Wallace may move to the left of West Brom’s attack, a position from which he can still have a significant impact, if Fellows is to enter on the right as previously suggested.
