Luton’s 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday was salvaged with two goals in the last minutes.
Chris Wood scored twice to put his team ahead, but Elijah Adebayo’s spectacular stoppage-time goal and Chiedozie Ogbene’s strike made sure the Hatters shared the victory. See below to see how the Luton players fared in the afternoon ratings.
Kaminski Thomas: 7.5
In the first half, Toffolo prodded the ball near to goal, and the goalkeeper was called upon to make a superb reflex stop. Resolved Gibb-White’s cross and was appreciative of Sangare’s unfortunate mishap. The attacker was left open after Wood was sent off to score, and he had no genuine opportunity to score with his header either, until the offside flag prevented a hat-trick.
STAR MAN Chiedozie Ogbene: 8
began the game at right wingback and provided an outlet for Luton by sending in some dangerous crosses for Brown, one of which narrowly missed his teammate and the other of which turned wide of the goal. selected the striker once more before the break, who headed straight at Turner before scoring his first Premier League goal of the season, volleying home when VAR determined he had just kept onside. This made the score 2-1.
Burke Reece: 6.5
had a difficult time keeping up with Elanga in the first half as he attempted to break free on Forest’s left, trying his hardest to obstruct the gifted winger’s supply line. I was crossing my fingers for Morris’s chance, but Wood had to be let go for fear of being sent off as the Reds came back stronger after the interval. Hobbled away with yet another injury, which hopefully proves to be minor this time.
Lockyer, Tom: 6.5
made a few crucial clearances in the first half, including one just in time to eliminate the threat when Toffolo was poised to turn home. unable to stop Forest from cutting a swath through Luton’s defence to score Wood’s first goal, but they made some spectacular mad dashes in the latter minutes as Town tried to find a way back into the game. Adebayo gave his everything with a lofted chip into the box to give Luton an equalizer, and he then held the line expertly to catch Wood offside at 2-2.
