Southampton star Carlos Alcaraz is being tracked by Premier League side Fulham ahead of the January transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.
Saints pulled off a coup by landing the young Argentine midfielder in the winter window earlier this year and he joined from Racing Club for around £12m.
Alcaraz is a player that Southampton are not keen on losing and he is rated highly on the south coast.
However, there is Premier League interest in the 20-year-old with Fulham tracking his situation as the January window looms closer.
Whether Southampton would be able to see off a substantial bid from Fulham for Alcaraz may in part depend on whether a return to the Premier League next season looks likely in the new year.
Russell Martin currently has Saints sitting in a playoff spot in the Championship.
Leicester City are threatening to run away with the division, which would leave just one automatic promotion spot to go for, amid strong competition from Ipswich Town and Leeds United.
Southampton are next due to take on fourth placed Preston North End at Deepdale.
