The Black Cats have a poor record going into their next game at King Power Stadium, but they are still in the playoffs after a fantastic start to the season.
Tony Mowbray, the manager of Sunderland, has urged his team to show bravery against a well-trained Leicester City team that includes “devastating individuals.”
Despite two losses, the Black Cats are remain sixth in the division when they play at King Power Stadium on Tuesday night. He also wants his squad to be attacking right away, despite the fact that they are playing City, who are trying to become the first second-tier team to win 12 of their first 13 games since 1905.
He understands that City can produce waves of attacks, and he does not wish to defend against them all. Mowbray stated: “We need to be bold, have faith in our players’ abilities, get the ball to them, and let them do their thing.
“I think Leicester has some incredibly dangerous players who have the ability to seriously hurt your side. We need to strive to play our game and be aware of them.
Rather than defending wave after wave, we need to have a portion of the ball that puts them on the defensive and forces them to go back towards their own goal. They do exactly that in some of the games I’ve witnessed them play; they attack you repeatedly until they break you. The coach deserves a lot of credit for it.
In addition to praising Enzo Maresca’s work at the King Power Stadium in his short time there, Mowbray drew attention to the similarities between Manchester City and Leicester.
He remarked, “They are clearly well-coached when I watch them.” “The coach deserves a great deal of praise for his ability to build the club.
The way they develop from a four to a three is extremely similar to how we play. They have an excellent football coach. He’s played with Pep (Guardiola) and Manchester City for a while, and it’s clear from watching his team play positional football. They pose a threat. Dealing with good players that play positional football is incredibly challenging.
