Phil Parkinson is not taking the bottom-of-the-table visitors lightly, even if WREXHAM is the clear favorite to defeat Sutton United at The STóK Cae Ras tonight.

The Reds’ unbeaten streak in all competitions now stands at six games following their hard-fought 1-1 draw with Bradford on Saturday at Valley Parade. They are now fifth in League Two, five points behind leaders Stockport County. Sutton has only won twice in 14 league games this season, sitting three points below the basement, but Parkinson understands that success is not a formality and wants his team to take the initiative. The Reds’ manager stated, “We are starting to gather some momentum and I am excited to play at The Racecourse again.” Every game has unique difficulties. It is evident from the National League that every game is important. Teams arrive and complicate things, but we’ll focus on the tasks at hand.

This season, there have been occasions when we have passed the ball and switched it, and we have looked quite dangerous. “Hopefully, we can defeat Sutton with that.” Echoing his manager’s thoughts, Jordan Tunnicliffe made his first league start of the season in the stalemate against Bradford despite overcoming back and calf issues. The center back remarked, “I know they are down there, but Sutton are a decent side.” “Hopefully, we can secure the three points, but we will need to remain alert.” Bradford placed pressure on Wrexham in the second half, but Paul Mullin gave the Reds the lead before the Bantams pulled a late equalizer. For Aaron Hayden, who was absent due to illness, Tunnicliffe stated, “It’s a point in the right direction.” With ten minutes remaining and a 1-0 lead away from home, we ought to be finishing the game, therefore we are dissatisfied. “That’s football; they put us under pressure, threw a lot of balls into the box, and managed to score a goal that was disappointing to give up.” But instead of giving up, we were able to win the game. “We’ll move on to Sutton after taking the point.”
