BirminghamLive’s most recent Aston Villa news includes Tammy Abraham’s status update.

It has been reported that Tammy Abraham may leave AS Roma at the end of the season and rejoin the Premier League. Before he sustained an injury on the penultimate day of the previous season, Aston Villa is said to have reached an agreement to sign the 26-year-old, who has long been linked to a return to English football. After moving from Chelsea to Roma in 2021, Abraham’s first campaign in the Italian city was more successful than his previous one. In 54 games across all competitions, he managed just nine goals and seven assists in the previous season. Abraham is still recovering after undergoing surgery for an ACL injury.

Despite his injury layoff, a number of clubs are still interested in signing him. Abraham is reportedly “heading for the exit” and is eager to play football in England again, according to TEAMtalk.

Chelsea, his previous team, is rumored to have “kept an eye” on his development and may look to move him. When Romelu Lukaku’s Blues loan expires next year, Roma is interested in acquiring him permanently, thus a possible trade might be investigated.

In addition, Villa is said to be “big fans” of the player after he spent the 2018–19 season on loan at B6. They are not alone, though, as it is rumored that Brentford has Abraham under consideration to succeed Ivan Toney.

With two and a half years remaining on his contract, Roma is reportedly seeking a price of over £45 million for the striker.
