Ollie Norburn was sidelined for Blackpool’s second straight match as they defeated Cheltenham Town 3-2.

The midfield player had to miss the weekend’s trip to Oxford due to a neck issue, from which he is presently healing. On Saturday afternoon, Neil Critchley’s team will return to action when they host Peterborough United at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders manager commented on Norburn’s recuperation, saying: “He’s a little bit better but still not quite right.” “I’m sure he’ll want to play in that game, so hopefully he’ll keep getting better before taking the field against Peterborough on Saturday. All we’ll do is give him as much time as we can. He hasn’t trained yet, but he has improved since Saturday, so we’ll have to take a closer look at it. “I hope it goes away shortly because it has the potential to linger as well as clear up very quickly. “Perhaps it gets better again so he can submit his application for consideration.” James Husband is expected to return for the Peterborough match, despite having missed the victory over the Robins as well. “Ideally, he would return on Saturday,” Critchley continued. “Against Cheltenham, we made five changes. “Dom (Thompson) earned a second opportunity since he played well at Charlton. Both Kaddy (Karamoko Dembele) and Shawne (Lavery) appeared to be sharp. When Albie (Morgan) debuted over the weekend, he did well. “Then there’s Callum (Connolly), who has experience playing at both this level and one higher. He did a great job leading the team tonight as captain. “It’s crucial to manage your team during a busy schedule.”
