The Sky Blues head to New York Stadium to play Championship action against Rotherham United under the lights.

The Millers are here: With Matt Taylor in charge, Rotherham United put a stop to their history of bouncing between League One and the Championship, securing their spot in the league for a second consecutive year after finishing in 19th place the previous season. They failed to duplicate last year’s successful start to the season, which laid the groundwork for their battle against the drop this year.

With eleven games completed, the Millers are currently sitting 23rd in the Championship. This is a six-point deficit that they must close in order to avoid relegation for the second consecutive season.

This will be Rotherham’s first game following the international break. The team’s scheduled Friday night match against Ipswich Town was canceled due to floods.

Matt Taylor on the rescheduled game between his team and Ipswich:

“It’s a huge opportunity to get back to the pack and make sure we’re no longer means we’re playing catch-up in the league.”

“The stitching which happened a few weeks into the season has started to bed in with the natural grass,” stated the manager. “That is the best condition I’ve seen the pitch in but it’s the safety aspect of the surrounding areas.”
