Yves Bissouma rejoins Tottenham after missing the match against Fulham due to suspension.
The formidable Yvess Bissouma in midfield will be available for selection by Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou. Bissouma was sent off against Luton Town, so he was unable to play against Fulham.
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg took advantage of the Malian’s absence to remind everyone that he still had something valuable to offer the squad. The Malian has always been one of the first names on Postecoglu’s team sheet.
However, Bissouma gives more, passes the ball more directly, and uses space well, which has helped players like Pape Matar Sarr and James Maddison succeed and dominate at the same time.
Although Bissouma is still not good enough to manage games on his own for Brighton, he is the driving force behind Tottenham, and at a time when teams like Chelsea are spending over £100 million on Caceido, the £25 million Tottenham paid Brighton suddenly seems like a good deal.
After playing through injury for the final fifteen minutes of the victory over Fulham, Giovani Lo Celso is expected to be available as well, according to Ange Postecoglou.
With the exception of two draws against Brentford on opening day and Arsenal in the North London derby, Tottenham has had the best start to a Premier League season. They are currently atop the league table and have won seven of their eight games.
With the derby this weekend, they will move five points clear of second-place Manchester City. Spurs, with calm confidence, are at least expecting to mount a title challenge this season.
