We will be asking a number of Blackpool FC associates to select their fantasy five-a-side team throughout the season.
Anybody they want can be on the team, including past and present teammates as well as all-time greats. Seasiders striker Shayne Lavery has chosen his team for this week.
This is what he said:
Dan Grimshaw (GK)
“I’m starting with players I’ve played with, so Grimmy (Dan Grimshaw), who can also play in midfield, is going to start in goal. “He would simply score a few goals for himself after emerging from the net.”
Evans Jonny
“I can’t leave Jonny Evans out, so I’ll position him at the back. The quality of what he’s doing is incredible, so I’m not surprised. “I know that when I’m playing for Northern Ireland, if he has the ball, I can score because he has that calmness. “He is a huge inspiration to me and a great guy as well. He was at United during the glory years, and for him to get into that team during that time was crazy.
Carey Sonny
“I’ve got to put Sonny in front of Steven Davis because he wouldn’t be happy if I didn’t.”
Bowler Josh
“I will insert Josh Bowler into that. He was amazing for a Blackpool character.
“I was also acquainted with him from my time at Everton.”
“He’s a funny guy and a great lad.”
Shayne Lavery
“I’ll put myself in there for the fun of it.”
