Another sad injury blow has been dealt to the Baggies.

One of West Bromwich Albion’s most consistent players has suffered yet another setback due to injury. A dependable journalist has provided an update on the player’s fitness based on his communication with the Hawthorns.

What are the most recent West Brom injury updates?

Currently, Semi Ajayi, John Swift, Daryl Dike, Jeremy Sarmiento, Josh Maja, Adam Reach, and Martin Kelly are all sidelined due to personal issues under Carlos Corberan’s management. Now, a new casualty has joined them in the treatment area.

Tuesday night, the Baggies defeated Queens Park Rangers 2-0 at home in the Championship. However, even though the win was much-needed, the manager had to deal with the loss of one of his stars to injury.

Since Cedric Kipre has been one of their most used players this season, his forced exit from the field after 86 minutes and his replacement by Caleb Taylor following a high ball contest will undoubtedly worry the team’s supporters.

According to WhoScored’s Kipre statistics, the Ivory Coast center back has started 12 of the 13 games in the second tier since the season began. However, if the upcoming update is accurate, the 26-year-old will have to wait a while.

Update on Cedric Kipre’s injury

Darren Witcoop provided an update on Cedric Kipre’s injury on X, stating that the West Brom defender will be out for a while and that he will find out the full nature of his issue when he gets scanned soon.

“Fear of West Brom Cedric Kipre has a serious knee injury that will require a lengthy recovery. Kipre, who has been playing well for the Baggies, went up against QPR tonight. A scan will be performed to ascertain the extent of the injury.”

Cedric Kipre is a good guy.
Journalist Josh Bunting claims that Kipre is a “fantastic” defender at this level, and he has demonstrated this thus far this season by averaging 3.6 clearances per game in the Championship (WhoScored – Kipre statistics). However, Kipre’s abilities as the center of the backline extend beyond that. At six feet three, Corberan’s colossus has won 14 of the 23 tackles he has made since the start of the current season, which is the highest success rate of any player on the Midlands team (FBRef – West Brom statistics).

Because of this, West Brom will be aware that losing Kipre for an extended period of time would be devastating if the worst-case scenario is verified after his scan. As a result, there’s a chance the manager will have to look for a center-back replacement during the January transfer window.
