In a recent Q&A, Kristjaan Spearman, the Sporting Director of Sunderland, talked about Jack Clarke. This season, Jack Clarke has been the Black Cats’ greatest discovery, making him a target for several Premier League teams.
The Sunderland Echo claims that clubs like Burnley have expressed interest in signing Clarke. Sunderland would hate to lose their 22-year-old treasure. As a result, Clarke has also been mentioned as getting a new deal at the Stadium of Light. But now the Sporting director of Sunderland has expressed his opinion regarding Clarke’s possible transfer.
Regarding Jack Clarke, Kristjaan Speakman
Speakman was questioned regarding the club’s position on a Clarke sale while speaking at a Red and White Army Q&A supporters session that was covered by X. The fan questioned Speakman about the club’s willingness to sell the winger for the estimated £20 million, mentioning that teams like Brighton and Crystal Palace were also interested in the Clarets.
Speakman answered, “With any offer, we need to make the right decision for the club,” in response.
This response doesn’t reveal much, but it does imply that Clarke will only be let go if the club can get the best deal at the right price.
What has Clarke been up to?
Clarke has performed admirably, taking home the September Player of the Month title in the Championship. In addition, TransferMarkt reports that he has eight goals in 14 games across all competitions this season. His current record of 11 goals and 14 assists in 50 games from the previous season is expected to be surpassed. But given Mason Burstow’s struggles, we believe Sunderland needs a striker to give Clarke the opportunity to start contributing assists once more.
