A man from Oldham was arrested previously

Images of men that the police are searching for have been made public following mayhem at an Oldham Athletic vs. Chesterfield FC football game.

At the end of the August 19 game, spectators at Chesterfield’s SMH Group Stadium barged onto the field. Fights also started “between a small number of spectators in the ground,” according to the police, and a “goalkeeper was pushed.” An Oldham resident, 36, was earlier taken into custody “on suspicion of football offenses” and later released on bond. In collaboration with Greater Manchester Police, Derbyshire Police officers have now made public images of nine men they are looking for.

It is being asked that anyone who recognizes them get in contact. The police had previously stated that they were reviewing CCTV footage from the day of the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Police stated: “Images of people they would like to trace in connection with the incident have been released by officers looking into a pitch invasion and disorder at the Chesterfield FC vs Oldham Athletic match in August.

“During the game, there were reports of a goalkeeper being shoved, a pitch incursion, and fighting between a few fans inside the stadium. As part of the investigation, we are still collaborating with Greater Manchester Police officers.

“Are there any men in the pictures that you recognize? If so, kindly get in touch with us using the information below, mentioning the image number (number 8 is missing) and reference 23*523339.
