Alan Hutton, a former full-back for Aston Villa, is joining us as our exclusive columnist. He will provide his opinions on the most talked-about topics at Villa Park every week.

Douglas Luiz is unlikely to want to leave Aston Villa anytime soon, according to Alan Hutton.

Due to his outstanding play for the West Midlands club, Luiz, 25, has naturally been linked to a move away.

Football Insider said on October 29 that Villa is prepared to begin contract negotiations with the Brazil international in light of Arsenal’s interest prior to the January transfer window.

Hutton believes Luiz will want to sign further contracts at Villa Park because of boss Unai Emery’s confidence in him, which is causing him to play so well.

Hutton told Villa News, “Just silly things like he takes penalty kicks but he scores goals from corner kicks.”

“It takes an absurd amount of confidence to even do it.

It merely reveals his current situation. He appears content and approaches everything with a smile on his face. In a team, there’s no better place to be when you feel that way. May it go on for a long time.

This season, the former Manchester City midfielder has made 15 appearances for Aston Villa in all competitions, tallying six goals. He is a defensive midfielder, however this season he has scored in all of Villa’s home Premier League games. When the Bedfordshire team travels to Villa Park on Sunday, October 29, it remains to be seen if that run will hold.
