According to Alan Nixon on his Patreon, Huddersfield Town will decide on striker DJ Sturridge following his outstanding trial with the team.

The current season hasn’t been the easiest for Huddersfield Town. There has only been one victory for the Terriers since Neil Warnock left. Darren Moore’s team is now five points clear of the relegation zone in 21st place in the table.

It’s hoped that some winter additions will boost their chances of rising through the ranks under Moore, but it’s possible that someone else joins before then.

Recently, Huddersfield Town has been monitoring Sturridge, a 22-year-old free agent. He left Aston Villa at the end of the previous campaign and hasn’t been with a team since, but the Terriers might be able to help him return to the game.

Reporter Nixon has now stated on his Patreon that Sturridge’s future will be decided by the Championship team. In an attempt to grab attention, he scored three goals in two games for the B team during his Town trial, showing promise.

Sturridge on his way?
Sturridge should have a lot of success in his pursuit of a contract after scoring three goals in two games for Huddersfield Town’s reserve team. Time will tell if he’s done enough to warrant a deal.

In seven Premier League games for the U18s, he scored two goals and provided two assists. In the Premier League 2, he played ten games for the Villa U23s. However, in those appearances, he only returned one assist, not demonstrating enough to secure an extension with Villa.

Because of their B team structure, the Terriers are constantly seeking to expand their roster and bring in fresh talent for the first team.
