Season tickets for the Green Brigade have been suspended as the conflict between the team and the ultras group intensifies.
It has come to light that the supporters group is not permitted to use tickets for any of the club’s home or away games. The group members who are located in Parkhead’s north curve have been notified directly of the decision through direct communications. The club allegedly said that this action was taken “pending further review” with regard to the group’s future behaviour and adherence to ground relations.
It is acknowledged that the Green Brigade’s support of Palestine during the ongoing conflict in Israel has no bearing on this decision.
The suspension follows the most recent UEFA fines imposed on Celtic due to the ultras’ actions during the Champions League this season. The group in Rotterdam ignited Pyro as Brendan Rodgers’ team fell to Feyenoord in their opening Group E match. Additionally, it’s thought that the Green Brigade entered Celtic Park without permission in order to set up a sizable tifo display that was flown before the Lazio game.
It is also thought that the club acted in this way after evaluating access concerns at a recent Premiership away game at Fir Park.
