According to Tony Brown, Grady Diangana was not happy that Brandon Thomas-Asante missed an opportunity to allow the West Brom winger to score his second goal against Coventry on Monday night.
At the CBS Arena, the Albion defeated the Sky Blues 2-0 with goals from Thomas-Asante and Diangana.
However, if Thomas-Asante had passed to Diangana rather than launching a late effort well over the crossbar, Diangana could have doubled his total and eased the Championship victory.
Baggies legend Brown claimed that Diangana wasn’t entirely happy with his partner.
As stated at 9:38 p.m. on the BBC Sport website, Bomber Brown stated on BBC Radio WM on Monday, October 31, that Brandon Thomas-Asante “took too many touches there and took too much time.”
Grady Diangana could have played him in there, but he was thinking about only one thing, so I don’t think he’s too happy.
“He’s looked sharp but in the end he made a mess of it.”
He’s ravenous.
At West Brom, Diangana is playing at his best level in a long time.
The former West Ham winger helped John Swift score at Birmingham four games ago, and he has scored in each of his last two Championship games for the Black Country team. Diangana is demonstrating why the club signed him permanently from the Hammers three years ago, even if he isn’t directly involved in any goals. Even though the game was already all but won, he had every right to be irritated by BTA’s late miss against Coventry. As a result, he is currently acting and performing like he is extremely hungry.
On his day, the 25-year-old DR Congo ace is among the best players in the Championship, but over the past three years, that day has come far too infrequently.
He’s playing well now, and hopefully he can maintain it in the upcoming days and weeks. The main concern for Diangana will be his fitness, and Carlos Corberan will also be thinking about it as the days grow shorter and the schedule gets more packed.
