To keep things interesting at the top of the pitch, Phil Parkinson switched up Paul Mullin’s strike partner for the last three games.

Steven Fletcher started in attack for the 1-1 draw at Bradford City 10 days with Ollie Palmer coming off the bench after the break.

Palmer was back in the side for last Tuesday’s 2-1 home win against Sutton United while Fletcher and Sam Dalby appeared as second half substitutes.

There was another change up front against Notts County at Meadow Lane on Saturday as Dalby partnered Mullin but Palmer came on in the 70th minute and scored the second goal in the 2-0 win which keeps Wrexham third in League Two on the same number of points as the second placed Magpies and five behind leaders Stockport County.

With the games coming thick and fast, Parkinson wanted to freshen things up in attack.

“Ollie wasn’t dropped on Saturday,” said the Reds’ boss.

“If you go back in the three games Fletch started against Bradford, Ollie came on after 60 minutes and did well.

“The other night against Sutton, Ollie started while Fletch and Dalby came on and did well.

“I thought Dalby was outstanding when he started against Notts County.

“His all-round game, he won everything in the air and he linked the play really well for us.
