During matchweek 10, Serge Aurier, a defender for Nottingham Forest, won the most headers of any player in the Premier League. At the top of the charts, the captain was on par with Levi Colwill and Virgil van Dijk.
This season, Aurier has been a consistent member of the Forest squad. He has been fighting constantly to get fit after playing little football during the preseason, but he looked excellent over the weekend.
In their most recent match, Forest lost to Liverpool. They lost 3-0, and as he looks for a winning formula, Steve Cooper is left with a lot more questions than answers.
Aurier shines as Forest falls to Liverpool.
After leaving Villarreal, the defender signed a contract with Forest in the summer of 2022. He was mostly excellent the previous season and had just assisted the team in making it to the Champions League semifinals.
After Forest had ensured Aurier’s survival, she was given a new contract. He’s only missed one game in 2023–2024, and he’s obviously important because he captained the team in the last five games.
Despite the loss on Sunday, Aurier was outstanding. During his time on the pitch, The Other 14 demonstrated on Twitter that he had won seven headers, which was the most of any Premier League player this weekend.
Aurier is still crucial to Steve Cooper.
The head coach of Forest needs his veterans to take the pitch right now. Aurier will continue to be a vital member of the Forest team and is firmly a member of the leadership group. Gonzalo Montiel is currently sidelined due to an injury he received while serving for his country. Consequently, it seems that Aurier will have plenty of opportunities to play for Forest while Cooper is waiting for him to return. The 30-year-old is unwavering in his commitment to the Forest cause. He has never failed the team before, and on Sunday he proved it once more by showcasing his aerial skills during the match.
