Richarlison is still not living up to expectations when wearing a Spurs shirt, so Ange may soon turn to this gem who is consistently scoring goals away from the team.

Harry Kane’s departure from Tottenham could have led to the team’s total collapse, especially with Ange Postecoglou taking over as manager despite having no prior head coaching experience in the Premier League.

Ten games into the new Premier League season, though, and Postecoglou’s selection has proven to be a brilliant move, with players like Heung-min Son rising to the occasion to replace their star player who left for Bayern Munich.

With eight wins and two draws in the league, the South Korean forward is still undefeated. His importance to Spurs has increased as he has scored eight goals in these ten perfect games, pushing Kane’s move to Bavaria to the side.

But if Son were to withdraw due to a persistent injury, the lightning-fast morth Londoners would be completely outmatched in an attack.

Spurs may have a gem in their ranks who has been with the team since 2017 and could eventually displace both the Brazilian and the Argentinian as the preferred backup option. Richarlison is another option, as is new summer signing Alejo Veliz.

This season’s numbers for Richarlison
The 26-year-old was an uneasy presence at Spurs under former head coach Antonio Conte, who would frequently “scold” the former Everton player for requesting more playing time in an interview with talkSPORT. However, under new manager Postecoglou, the player has been given the opportunity to start more games.

That doesn’t mean the goals have kept up, though; in all competitions, the Brazilian attacker has only scored two goals for Spurs thus far.

His overall performances have also been lacklustre; during a disappointing 64-minute stint against Crystal Palace last time out, Spurs’ number nine won just two of the ten ground duels he participated in that evening (according to Sofascore), and his lone attempt was dragged wide.

Having come from Everton, he cost Tottenham a substantial £60 million. Despite 46 games played, his five goals and seven assists for Spurs thus far do not justify this transfer fee.

Postecoglou might then have to look elsewhere in his group for players to play up top; Troy Parrott, a striker who was born in Dublin 21 years ago, is one such player.

Future Richarlison replacement for the Spurs
With a goal every 37 minutes while on loan in the Netherlands, Parrott is a player that Tottenham should keep an eye on if Richarlison keeps failing to produce.

The Irishman, who is currently at Excelsior Rotterdam and has played for Milton Keynes Dons, Millwall, and other teams in the EFL, is a journeyman when it comes to the number of clubs he has played for on loan. He will be hoping and praying that his opportunity to break into the Spurs first team roster soon arrives.

Given Parrott’s recent goal-scoring prowess in the Dutch first division, Postecoglou will undoubtedly be monitoring his player while he is on loan at Excelsior.

In his seven games for his new Rotterdam team, he has three goals. He frequently scores as an impact substitute in the closing stages of games.

The Spurs superstar scored in just eighteen minutes against Pec Zwolle. Unmarked, he scored from a free kick to make it 4-2 in an unfortunate defeat.

Tottenham could use more bodies up front, and in Parrott they have an athletic, clinical goal scorer who, should he continue to excel while on loan at the senior level, is more than capable of competing for a starting spot against Richarlison.
