Before our EFL Cup matchup with Arsenal tonight, West Ham manager David Moyes has given a clear indication of his starting lineup.

Later on, Our Hammers will play the Gunners at the London Stadium in an attempt to advance to the Carabao Cup quarterfinals. The manager will be under some pressure after a difficult week that saw Moyes’ team lose three games in a row.

Given that we are hosting a London rival who spent £105 million signing Declan Rice in the summer, the West Ham manager is aware that the match will hold great significance for many. Therefore, it is essential that the match be taken very seriously, and the choice supports that as well.

Moyes has hinted that Edson Alvarez and Lucas Paqueta will likely start against Arsenal tonight due to their impending suspensions this weekend. When asked if their suspensions had an effect, Moyes responded, “It’s a factor because I can’t use them at the weekend,” as stated by the club’s official website. “It’s unfortunate that they received a ticket and suspension, but that’s the way the league has operated this season.

The manager was also questioned regarding Mohammed Kudus, who many are hoping will play for our Irons once more tonight after the forward’s impressive debut in east London.

“Adaptation can take several months for any individual, regardless of their level of success. Mo, though, seems to have adapted quite well. “He performed well from the start against Everton,” Moyes said.

We’re not pushing too hard or asking for too much too soon because he’s still young. Though he could also play up front or off the right for us, I believe he could be a midfielder. All of those positions, in my opinion, are crucial to us since they provide variety.

In the end, Moyes acknowledged that feelings will be running high when Declan Rice returns to the team he joined at the age of 14, and the manager hopes the Hammers supporters will welcome the England midfielder back with open arms.

“Hopefully, Declan will return,” Moyes continued. “This is the man who won West Ham’s first European trophy in fifty years.” We should throw open our arms to receive him back.

“He was an excellent team player and led West Ham with impeccable manners as captain. I’m incredibly excited to see him. Maybe he should play, but I’m not sure! Still, I’m hoping he’s there.
