After a sluggish start to the season, Kyle McFadzean is optimistic that Haji Wright will soon bring goals to Coventry City.

The Sky Blues suffered their third loss in a span of ten days on Monday night at the CBS Arena, falling to West Brom 2-0. The outcome saw the team drop to 20th position.

In front of goal, Mark Robins’ team sorely lacked a clinical touch. Wright had opportunities of his own and appeared lively, but he was unable to find the back of the net.

The American has made 14 appearances, but has only scored twice. McFadzean#, who highlighted his strengths, thinks Wright will eventually find his form again.

“He just needs to keep going,” McFadzean remarked following the loss. “They will arrive, but he has been unlucky. He scores goals in training every single day, so I have no doubt he will score the next time he plays.

“He moved here with his wife and child, so it’s a significant adjustment for him. He’s still getting used to it, which can take some time. As I mentioned earlier, we see him in training, so once he gains confidence, he will be flying. He is an excellent player with excellent finishing ability. I hope it can occur shortly.”

Finally, he pleaded with the team, stressing, “We have to stick together.” Although we are a new group, we can no longer maintain that claim.

“We’ve been dating for a while now. We will focus on the minor details this week in order to make the necessary improvements.”
