The Glasgow Times reports that a source inside Dens Park has revealed that the pitch is playable despite concerns that Rangers’ match against Dundee would be postponed.

The newspaper announced on its website [November 1st] that, barring any unforeseen weather changes, the game is probably going to proceed as planned.

As video footage of the surrounding areas of the pitch flooded earlier on Wednesday, concerns over the Scottish Premiership match began to mount.

With yellow weather warnings already in effect, Dundee confirmed in a statement earlier in the day that they will keep an eye on the pitch.

Nothing more has happened since the Rangers announced that they are in communication with the home team and will release any updates that they receive.

Nothing is worse than preparing for a game that is far away and travelling with the worry that, should it be postponed, it might all be for nothing.

Unbelievably, far too many games are postponed until so close to kickoff that spectators have already arrived, with little consideration for their circumstances. Although the radio silence that followed the club’s statements earlier today may be viewed as a good thing, it would be good to know that the game will still go on. Although those things could obviously change, based on the most recent update, it appears that everything is going well in the lead-up to the kickoff at Dens Park. Philippe Clement is going to be crossing his fingers.
