Foxes of Leicester discuss Leicester City injury news, as a breakout Foxes star returns with a new striker. But a midfielder and a winger are unavailable for the Leeds United fixture. Elsewhere in the City sphere, a Leeds player claims it is a good time to play LCFC. Is he correct?
Leicester triumphed in London over a determined Queens Park Rangers team at the weekend. An emotionally charged contest at Loftus Road ended 2-1 in the visitors’ favour. That was partly thanks to goals from the exciting Stephy Mavididi and exceptional acquisition Harry Winks. Prior to Friday’s big match, Foxes head coach Enzo Maresca gave a press conference updating the footballing world on his squad.
The Italian spoke of four Foxes before playing the Peacocks: Yunus Akgun, Tom Cannon, Kasey McAteer and Wilfred Ndidi. A reoccurring issue rules Yunus out, unfortunately. Neither will Ndidi feature in the clash. Although, the gaffer did also reveal some encouraging news for Leicester: McAteer and Cannon are available.
Leeds United star Willy Gnonto suggests it’s a convenient time to travel to Leicester City’s King Power Stadium
Gnonto must be confident, because Leicester are bossing the English second division at present. It has not been an easy task to achieve records, acclaim and preeminent Championship status for LCFC, but it is currently happening. That’s why it is rather strange logic for an upcoming opponent to feel this is an ideal occasion to battle the Foxes.
So why did he say it? Well, the Italian believes that the Whites are in equally good form at the moment, which seems to be the rationale. Although, he simultaneously states that Leicester are too making excellent strides, detracting his point. Gnonto added a warning to the east Midlands outfit, declaring that with the right team mentality, he and his teammates can defeat any side.
