The last time the two teams faced off in April, center-forward Kian Harratt scored his first goal for the team and his first goal in the Championship in a crucial victory.

Kian Harratt, a striker for the Terriers, acknowledges that there is “room for improvement” among all of the team’s members, but he thinks manager Darren Moore can still bring that out of his players despite having had a challenging start to his tenure.

Since Moore joined the team in September, Huddersfield Town has only won one of their seven games. The team has already given up four goals in back-to-back losses, which has put pressure on the manager even at this early point in his tenure.

young goods Moore wants to see a lot more from Harratt, a 21-year-old who earned the rather thankless task of leading the line in both of those games after giving his team the early lead in their 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers.

“[Moore] just wants to see me score goals, get assists, and just help the team and see where I can take it,” Harratt stated prior to Saturday’s loss at Leeds. As a young player, we all have room to improve as we work together every day on the training pitch. I believe the gaffer will see to it that I always have room for improvement.

When I was younger, I looked up to all the pros. When you consider the entire team, we can all get better together, isn’t that right? Everybody needs to have little pieces taken out of them. There’s always space for improvement, and I believe I have a lot to gain.

Harratt went on to say that he believes he performs at his best when under duress, citing his previous encounter with Watford at the conclusion of the previous campaign. The striker scored his first goal for the team in that match when he connected with Josh Koroma’s cross at the near post to increase Town’s lead. The goal proved to be crucial as the hosts responded with a goal in injury time to make it 2-3.

Neil Warnock’s team made significant progress towards leaving the bottom three with that match, their third straight victory. However, Town enters their match at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a completely different position, hoping to avoid suffering a third straight loss that would send them closer to the relegation zone.

Naturally, Harratt hopes to repeat his heroics from April. He says of the day, “We had to win and I came on and scored, so obviously I was very happy with myself.” About his development over the previous nine months, he continues, “It’s just a step in level.” This is just the next step up for me; I’ve scored a tonne of goals for the B team and in League Two, so hopefully I can score some more in the Championship. I train well enough every day to be clearly prepared for any opportunity that arises, and I’m going to seize it when it does.
