Seamus Coleman suffered his injury at the start of May
Everton captain Seamus Coleman is set to begin his comeback from a knee operation with a match for the under-21s this weekend.
The Republic of Ireland international has not played since damaging ligaments on 1 May at Leicester but could be reintroduced to competitive action against Manchester United’s under-21s at Leigh Sports Village on Saturday.
Manager Sean Dyche said: “Seamus is going well. He’ll hopefully get involved in a game for the under-21s this weekend.
“He needs some game time, of course, but he’s training very well and I think he’s pleased to be back on the grass.”
Coleman’s most recent Ireland cap was in the 1-0 Euro 2024 qualifier defeat to France in Dublin last March.
