This month Wrexham AFC players and staff will be uniting against Cancer, promoting Men’s mental health and raising awareness for suicide prevention by taking part in Movember.
On a global scale, more than 1.4 million men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year and one in eight men in the UK will be diagnosed with it during their lifetime.
The challenge is to grow a mustache and wear it as a symbol of healthier men and a healthier world.
As an organisation, they prioritise funding for the three biggest health issues facing men: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
Taking part in Movember and representing Wrexham AFC are: Humphrey Ker, Kevin Mulholland, Jonny Griffiths, Owen Jackson, Iwan-Pugh Jones, James Edgerley, Liam Hall, Dan Davies, Aaron Hayden, Eoghan O’Connell, Tom O’Connor, Billy Waters and Ollie Palmer.
Due to his commitments, Iwan could not make the photo, and Eoghan O’Connell was also unavailable due to the birth of his son, and we send our best wishes to him and his family!
Movember is a campaign which individuals and organisations take part in up and down the country, and speaking on why it is important for the Club to be involved, Kevin Mulholland said: “As a club we have had a lot of individuals and families directly affected by prostate cancer.”
“Having experienced the pain and suffering of losing my father to prostate cancer six years ago I know the toll it can take on families.
“This is our opportunity for players and staff at Wrexham AFC to help raise awareness of prostate cancer along with funds for a very important charity to help prevent men dying too soon from this illness.”
