Rory Wilson after his stunning form following his arrival from Rangers

Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to offer young ace Rory Wilson a new long-term contract.

Wilson continues to impress at under-18s level after joining from Rangers last year. In his first season for Villa, the forward scored 15 goals in 20 appearances and signed his first professional contract earlier this year after turning 17.

Now Villa are keen to offer him fresh terms. Fabrizio Romano states that the club are “prepared to discuss” a new five-year contract with Wilson.

He adds that “many clubs” are alert to his progress. Wilson has so far scored 11 goals in nine games in all youth competitions.

Academy Manager Mark Harrison previously said: “We have all been really pleased with his development since he has joined us, which has now seen him involved in the Under-21s on a regular basis.

“Rory has continued to score goals at all levels since he joined us in the summer, and we look forward to watching him develop over the coming years.”
